Sa Pa.
We cancelled the trip to the cable car. It's caked Fancipan, was completed in 2016 and takes you high up into the mountain. It was most too misty and rainy to see anything.
Instead we hired a car for the morning and went with Ling fit a trek to the local village and through the bamboo forest.
It was pretty wet and muddy and ridiculously slippery. Parts I thought were pretty dangerous with steep sides. I managed to stay upright until right at the end and slid bum in the mud!
Washed our clothes and showered back at the hotel and went to what lonely planet says is the best restaurant in Sa Pa. They were right. Roy got a rice and corn wine tasting (the 4 cups on the right) sms but starters we ordered raw salmon wraps, which were delicious...
but.....can you see the little tiny bit of innocent looking green paste next to the soya sauce....whee haa, what a kick. Before tasting, Roy mixed it all in..
At first I thought he was choking bit then he spat his food out. His face contorted and went red, and he later destructed described how his ears started burning, then he decided to forfeit them to save his brain add the pain turned to needles ask over his head as he frantically scratched his scull. Once I saw he could breath Sharon again we had a good giggle and ordered done more soya. The French owner said the staff don't warn you because they like to watch 😝
Roy ordered the salmon (we saw the farm trekking day before) and I had tofu which for once was tasty.
Spent the rest of the day wandering around the town and shops, coffee and cake at a restaurant and we are now lazing in bed drinking the local red wine and watching an old Bruce Willis movie. Tired and it's wet outside and did I mention how sore my legs are from trekking.

I loved the bamboo forest
Attempting to clean in the river with trekkers and locals laughing at me
