Angkor
Pheh. It's really beautiful. Really.
We were collected by our driver at 5 in the morning and after a few misunderstandings we watched the sun rise over a lake.
We planned our day with our driver.
It's hard capturing the beauty, especially on my camera phone.
A guy on a bike wad selling palm juice, which he collected himself, calluses to prove it. We bought some and it's good. Almost a musky taste?
We had lunch at a nasty restaurant. Crazy expensive and dull.
The next temple we saw was nice and quiet. It was horribly hot so most people had gone back to their hotels
for lunch and a swim. We were hot!

The first temple we went to was the one where "tomb raiders" was filmed. It was magical. The beauty of Angkor isn't just the amazing buildings, it's the backdrop too. Forest, jungle, the sound of birds waking up, a rooster in the distance, dogs playing. A we drove around, you notice a beautiful temple sticking out the forest or a city wall from years ago. The place is just kilometers of beauty.
I can't remember the names of the temple...I'll try and update this later with the names.
The next temple we visited was a large area with an outer wall.

Why can she show boobs while I can't show shoulders?
We sat in the shade for a while and noticed this spider. It's the darkish furry blob on the left in the photo.
Found out later its called an Assasin bug.
Roy wanted to watch sunset on the top of a temple and we had time to kill, so I had an ice cream while Roy had a beer I the reconditioned restaurant looking out to Angkor Wat.
The view
We then went to the sunset place, and on the way I saw I three naughty dogs chase a monkey up a tree.
As the sunset temple only allowes 300 people at a time we didn't want to delay, but I was told my shirt, which is on my knees, was too short. I had to make a plan, and quickly. I'd bought a t-shirt in the morning to cover my shoulders which I could now use, and then lower my dress, but the neckline was too thin to fit my waist. I skuttled into the forest and came our like this..
Saw a lady staring at my"skirt"..she said she thought it was a new fashion, lol
After a fairly long uphill walk we find that there was a fairly long queue. Each person was given a tag so we'd wait hopefully for another person to descend, leaving the temple. We got in!
It was nice, not Roy realised there were not going to be any great shots. Everyone was looking towards the sunset, opposite side to Angkor Wat.
Roy was hot and we discussed if we should leave and decided to make someone happy and give them our space.
That's were crowds using the viewing spots below the temple.
Was nice to enjoy the air movement on the drive home.
Back at our hotel we swam Ann's ordered gin and tonics just before there was a strong downpour of rain.
Went into town for dinner on a tuk tuk and ate at one of the popular restaurants on bar street, which is a loud, vibey street full of tourists, restaurants and bars. We were tried so didn't stay long.
