10th Jan. Drive thru Da Nang to Hoi An

Da Nang and Hoi An

Felt slightly better by morning and after a few sips of soup for breakfast our taxi arrived.

Roy felt like doing the trip to Hoi An in style, being taken over the pretty pass and to beaches. But as seems our luck in Vietnam..It was again raining.

The drive top Da Nang is over the Hai Van pass which is very pretty. We watched a top gear episode where Jeremy and co. Ride bikes over it.

I had an ice cream at the top and we are now having lunch in Da Nang.

Roy asked if I wanted to go look at the pagoda facing the restaurant and feeling sick I said 'nah'. Anyway, we decided to just go up and look and were pleasantly surprised how pretty it was with caves all over the place.

Ok, enough pictures of the caves. We rushed back to the car and headed off for Hoi An. What a lovely place, once our driver could find the hotel. He refused to follow Roy's directions until he got totally lost and had to give in to google maps.

Our room is lovely. Actually it's two rooms and two bathrooms. We had a swim in the hotel pool to cool off, then got two of the bicycles and hit town. What a vibey place. We love it.

We had a mojito on a floating boat restaurant but it want great so we moved to where sine Americans from Utah had recommended the buckets of cocktails and they were much better. We had a bucket each with them, then Roy and I chose one of the many restaurants for dinner. I remember that Romi said err should eat the 'white rose' when in Hoi An so we ordered that and tofu. Both very expensive and rather dull. But nice atmosphere so who cares about the food really.

This area is famous for having clothes made to order. Some rather strange suits on show....
