2nd Jan Cat ba and Hanoi

2nd January. Back to Cat ba and Hanoi

After a quick breakfast we shared a boat back to Cat Ba with our German neighbours. The hotel ordered the boat got us as one would order a taxi.

Passing the floating villages

From the harbour we walked up the hill and into town.

Roy bought our tickets to Hanoi and we soon got on the pink bus which took us across the island.
We boarded a boat.

Harbour we left from

And then got a bus to Hanoi where we left our bags at the hotel where we had stayed. Gia Thinh hotel. I can recommend it!

Roy had read about a good coffee shop which was really well hidden, but worth the trouble.

getting closer

Stairway up to coffee shop

He tried the egg foam coffee famous on Vietnam which was surprisingly nice.

We shared some springrolls at a restaurant recommended by lonely planet which were tasty and included a huge plate of lettuce and herbs which was lovely.

Roy wanted to taste the beer that is made and drink on the same day, caked Bier hoi. Our hotel had recommended a bar which we found.

Fetched our bags at the hotel who ordered us an uber to the railway station where we soon got into our sleeper coach and had a relatively comfortable night to SaPa.
